SEA WEEKENDS

You’ve been attending drill nights, learning all about navigation and life on ship - now it’s time to put it all into practice!
Sea Weekends are a crucial part of your time in the URNU. Not only are they a chance to try out all the new things you’ve been learning from your classes, they are also extremely good fun! You will be part of a crew of 10 students, and will take on different roles throughout your 2 days onboard, from Officer of the Watch, to Radar Operator, Quartermaster, or Chart Assistant.
Most sea weekends take place around the western isles of Scotland, with past destinations including Tarbert, Largs and Tobermorey. Also, throughout the year, opportunities may arise for you to visit slightly more further afield locations throughout England and Ireland and even Europe.
Not only will you make lasting memories, strengthen friendships and travel throughout the UK on these weekends; you will also be paid for every minute of your time onboard!
