Saturday 21st March saw the 11 a-side UGSAS vs G&SURNU football match, very skilfully organised by young William with the URNU fielding a team of no less than 6 players (Matthew Sheehan, Tim Tabitabie, William Houghton, Charles Mawer, Kwasi Ofori, Sebastian Primrose). Not dismayed, help was drafted in the form Glen Gostlow’s 7 a-side team the West end Wanderers which consisted of Lionel Messi and his pals. The teams lined up with the UGSAS looking very professional in a full strip and G&SURNU, the rag tag bunch of jumbled up teams looked ready to get thrashed. We weren’t disappointed, after the first 15 minutes with a shocking performance in goal by Sebastian the score was 3-0 UGSAS. With Will in goal the rest of the game, things started to pick up and by half time the score was 4-4 all thanks to goals from Kwasi, Glen and a couple from Messi. The second half saw more goals from Kwasi and Messi putting us in the lead for the first time, this seamed to really upset the UAS and we were accused of cheating (apart from the fact that half of our team weren't URNU we played fair and square). One more last minute goal made it 4-7 and we shook the crabs hands knowing we had done the navy proud... well six of us had anyway.
