HMS PURSUER

Picture
HMS Pursuer is our unit’s dedicated ship. She is an Archer Class P2000 coastal training vessel of the First Patrol Boat Squadron, and is used by our students to complete sea weekends and Summer/Easter deployments throughout their time at university.

Time on Pursuer is a crucial part of the URNU experience, and you will learn a variety of skills by working in several different roles, such as Officer of the Watch (OOW) and Quartermaster (manning the helm). Whilst onboard, you will have the chance to put all that you have been learning at Drill Nights into action, as well as receiving training and help from ship’s company and the Captain.

On top of all of this, you will visit many different locations throughout Scotland, the UK and even further afield, with previous ships having been to locations such as the south of England, Ireland and Norway!
